#tbt to the time I said I'd never share a bed with a dog. Well, welcome to my art show, "Sharing a bed with a dog: A Summer 2 0 1 7 Retrospective."
I will now take all of the earnings from this insanely detailed wedding invitation suite and put them towards a fun New Orleans trip and visit all the places on this map! (Jk jk it's probably all going towards new light fixtures/grain free dog food/the water bill). •
My whole life revolves around tile right now ↪️▫️↩️Not tiling my shower with these people's lovely names tho- shipping them off to Italy as part of a @boardingschoolcollective order and currently trying to orchestrate a stowaway situation.
Ok WHOA this room is starting to get a little too colorful for me. Gotta tone it down a bit... ◻️◽️▫️
This lil canvas was born in NYC when I realized how much I missed painting. She made it to storage in Buffalo, then down to Austin and now here in Portland. I hung her up today but I'm realizing it's kinda tough to bring existing artwork into a new space!? It feels a little tired or out of place. Anyone else have this struggle?
Official JRoCro Life Mantra™ of 2017!! • Applicable to house, businesses, dog-momming- you name it.
Except I did see a little girl wipe out on her bike today as I was driving and I pulled over to help and I realized I had... nothing useful or First Aidy in the car? Except about a centimeter of car-warmed Crystal Geyser water and an old tissue (rumpled, ~probably~ unused) and some unused rubber gloves from a dog-pee-test kit we never ended up using for Mozzarella.
So I put on the gloves to look official/sanitary and asked the kiddo if she wanted me to clean up her skinned knee with some water and she bravely nodded and probably thought "oh this lady is wearing gloves she's most likely a doctor I am saved" and I just reminded her to breathe and said it might sting a little. She was a trooper as we got her kinda cleaned up (as well as one can with an old Kleenex and a trickle of water) and on her way with her brother.
Which reinforced two things for me:
1. Fake it while you make it up as you go and be overly confident.
2. Buy a first aid kit for your car, like a real life adult ya dummy.
🌱〰 designing another custom @boardingschoolcollective invitation suite and obviously got green paint all over my shirt because I am oNe wiTh mY aRt.
Took a Sunday off from Our Sacred Church of Home Depot for a riverside sunshine hike in Bend and feel tongues-out happy about it.
Have you read any of these? I sure haven't. But now I can say I've painted them and how many books can ya say that about? • I love this custom project and how satisfying it is to complete each spine. They're going to a great home and I am very very excited to see the finished product. 📚
One of those weeks where all the calligraphy converges into one big "700 envelopes to-do" list. All while a plumber pleasantly jackhammers out the drain for my new tub like 8 feet behind me (so zen) :: What's the new wave of obscure podcast faves to keep me going? I'm loving Goal Digger and How I Built This, just started the new season of Revisionist History, and don't want to start one that already has like a thousand episodes and inside jokes to keep up with. Any suggestions?
I found these incredible crayons at my parents' house yesterday that I'd squirreled away, oh, 25 years ago. (Hi stingiest curmudgeon child of ever. That's certainly one way not to enjoy things!) ———I'm particularly fond of the "Maize" and "Blue Gray" shades. What was your favorite crayon color?
