“How’s the house? Is it done yet?” is a good natured question we get a lot that anyone who’s ever done a full remodel can see the humor in. We just finished another round of contracting to reside and repaint the whole house and upgraded 6 windows and 2 new doors. We had a twisted load-bearing post fixed and we took care of some badly needed electrical maintenance. So... yes! That part is done! We love how it looks and are so grateful it’s been done well so I’ll spare you the list of undone things and just celebrate this milestone for now. swipe for some gnarly befores >>> #notquiteprimrose
Intended to throw together a quick styling board to use as a background for shooting stationery work samples... Of course I just inadvertently produced my favorite piece of work in recent memory. Why’s the good stuff always an accident?!
A piece I did for a darling friend’s darling daughter’s darling nursery. (I’m not even being hyperbolic- everything about this family and this room is stinkin’ cute!). Such a joy to see a piece of my work living comfortably in someone’s home and so very lucky to be continually supported by friends who value art & letters.
Where’s the lie 🐌
Two truths and a lie :: I spent 6 hours organizing, purging, cleaning and hanging things in my studio space last night. • We don’t have enough plants in the house yet so this one probably won’t live up here with me • it looks exactly like this behind me and out of frame, too!! • ok, bonus truth:: I really really love it up here and am so happy and grateful. Bonus lie:: Ella has no trouble at all getting up the spiral staircase!
Morning dog-walk ritual • A mild PNW Winter • The last time I had a consistent morning routine I was living in NYC, hauling my (hungover) self to the gym, showering there and watching Regis & Kelly Live in the locker room, walking the few blocks down Lexington Ave to the office, getting a coffee and an overpriced pastry at Prêt a Manger before I even checked my email. Most weekdays! For months! • Working from home and for myself means setting my own schedule and sticking to it and before this dog I was terrible at it. I’m still not *great* about it but she gets me up and out into the fresh air and I’m grateful for that.
Ok so I might have watched #ingridgoeswest this weekend and gotten a little spooked. 😳
I’ve been bewitched by a gravestone at the pioneer cemetery where I walk the dog every morning. This one’s got everything: untimely death at 22, references to Buddha *and* Christ, roses, a harp, skulls, knights- you name it. Hope you’ve been resting peacefully these past 117 years, Nellie. Thanks for sharing a birthday with me.
Guys, meet Roxy and Boston. Rox and Boss, this is the fam. Let’s all please do our best to make them feel welcome because Boss is evidently *VERY UNSURE* about this whole situation and just needs some reassurance. 12/10 would comfort.
Just a thought! ✌🏼💕✌🏽💕✌🏾💕✌🏿 (edited to add that I wanted to credit @jemelehill for sparking this thought)
