How I hope you all feel at the end of today. 🦃💛🍂 Also, may all your pumpkin desserts have graham cracker crusts ONLY.
Not fully set up, not over styled or over cleaned up- but the beginnings of my very first ever home office. 😭I've never had a dedicated space to create - and I'm feeling bananas lucky and grateful for it. There are some nasty before pictures in my story today, if you're curious about the long journey of this room's glow-up. It's some real Princess Diaries, She's All That, Clueless style makeover shit. #notquiteprimrose
Am I taking forever to ship orders? ....Yes, yes I am. Are they going to look bangin' pretty when they get to you though? .... HYFR, as my best platonic male friend Drake would say. • No more slots for custom work this year BUT there are a few new prints up in the shop and adding more in the next week or so! •
It's invitation season, so I get to draw flowers for like six weeks straight. Also maps, also custom monograms and crests, and I'm SO HAPPY.
My all white bedroom dreams lasted about...5 minutes after getting a black dog. Those airy dreams now live on in our guest room but our master is turning into a cozy nest of indigo, rust, cream and brass, with a texture hodgepodge of flannel, wools and linen during these chilly months. (Less of a design choice, more of a not-freezing-to-death decision). Thanks to all who kindly checked in- we do FINALLY have a working furnace and the heat is on! •
Additionally, @mastrella7 would like me point out that *he* chose this well-coordinated dog bed. Next up: buying a bed for us humans. #notquiteprimrose
"Every single moment that we were alive and we were together was miraculous- not miraculous in the sense of inexplicable or supernatural. We knew we were beneficiaries of chance... That pure chance could be so generous and so kind... that we could find each other, as Carl wrote so beautifully in Cosmos, you know, in the vastness of space and the immensity of time... that is something which sustains me and it's much more meaningful... The way he treated me and the way I treated him... that is so much more important than the idea I will see him someday. I don't think I'll ever see him again. But I saw him. We saw each other. We found each other in the cosmos, and that was wonderful." - Ann Druyan, writer and collaborator with her late husband Carl Sagan. • I came across this beautiful answer of hers to a question about the afterlife and made it into a little love note/art print. Limited run of 10, available on my site now.
Leaves I picked up on a morning dog walk last week and then pressed so I can draw them all later. I get a little stagnant in my wildlife renderings from memory so I wanted to practice from some real life objects.
It has been... a WEEK, Y'ALL. @boardingschoolcollective had 5 events this week and our team was being pulled in other directions - so I flew in Tuesday, drove straight to Home Depot, and then got 👏🏼 to 👏🏼work👏🏼. In the 65 hrs since I landed, I cranked out a dozen slate signs, two wooden staked signs, two 6' seating charts, an 8' chalkboard wall, and delivered some paper goods and placecards. I have a mountain of work waiting for me when I get back to Portland tonight but am feeling very grateful to be doing something I love (and if we're being honest, really stinking proud of myself 😊).
Sketchbook from the plane yesterday. Already feels out of date! But it was either post it now or wait a full year so, you get it now. 👻
Happy Halloween from an airport bathroom- I dressed up as who I wanted to be 10 years ago. 💅🏼Heading to Austin to crank out 5️⃣@boardingschoolcollective event orders before Friday and already miss my dog? • Also these are pants, not a dress, but I had to relinquish my spot in front of the public mirror before I got the photo right and frankly I'm annoyed.
